I love it when Laura & Katie return home for the holidays and once again the house is full of life.
The girls (and Ben) have had the same group of friends since secondary school and in some cases even primary school. Our home has always welcomed their friends with open arms and beer & wine! I’ve watched them grow over the years and love having them in my house and hearing about their latest adventures.
University life is coming to the end for most of them. They’ve made new friends along the way but they remain closest to their school friends. Some of them will be venturing into the world of work, some are putting work off for as long as they can by going travelling to far of lands. But one things for sure they’ll stay in touch with each other for many years to come.
Life is so different from when I was their age. I left school at 16 and went to work as one of Maggie Thatcher’s YTS schemes earning £23.50 a week. I lived at home until I got married at 21.
Would I want to be their age again? No thanks, I’d quite like to go to bed now
